
In France, schools have a responsibility to cater to the needs of all children, and to give them access to knowledge.
To address the problems of absenteeism and low motivation levels, initiatives have been taken to help the children and adolescents concerned rebuild their self-confidence and resume an education or training course..
Other initiatives have been taken to help non-French-speaking children and adolescents who have recently arrived in France.
When there is a particularly high risk of pupils dropping out, schools may initiate action on a variety of fronts.
